THE MYSTERY OF GOD, CHRIST

Passage: Colossians 1:24~2:5

Key verse: 2:2

First, Jesus, the mystery of God (1:24-29). Paul rejoiced in suffering for Colossian believers for Jesus' sake, who called him to suffer for his name even to go to the end of the world, Spain to present to them the word of God in its fullness. The main point was Jesus Christ, the glorious riches of the mystery, the hope of glory. This has been kept hidden for ages and generations. But it is now disclosed to the Lord's people whom God has chosen so that everyone may fully mature in Christ. Second, in Christ, hidden all the treasures of God (2:1-5). Paul struggled very much to reach his goal that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ. In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Paul wanted no one might deceive them by fine-sounding arguments. He wrote to make them stand firm in their faith in Jesus.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for revealing Jesus, the hidden treasures of the wisdom of God. Help us never be deceived by fine-sounding arguments.

One Word: Reveal God's hidden mystery, Jesus
