MAKE MUSIC TO THE LORD
Passage: Psalm 92:1~15
Key verse: 1
Psalm 92[a]A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
1 It is good to praise the Lord
and make music(A) to your name,(B) O Most High,(C)
2 proclaiming your love in the morning(D)
and your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre(E)
and the melody of the harp.(F)
4 For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy(G) at what your hands have done.(H)
5 How great are your works,(I) Lord,
how profound your thoughts!(J)
6 Senseless people(K) do not know,
fools do not understand,
7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.(L)
8 But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
9 For surely your enemies(M), Lord,
surely your enemies will perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.(N)
10 You have exalted my horn[b](O) like that of a wild ox;(P)
fine oils(Q) have been poured on me.
11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.(R)
12 The righteous will flourish(S) like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;(T)
13 planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.(U)
14 They will still bear fruit(V) in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.(W)”

1. It is good to praise the Lord (1-8)
God wants us to praise him in the morning and in the evening. He wants us to sing and make music on instruments. When my spiritual eyes are opened, I can see God's hand working among us. His great deeds and the work of his hands fill me with joy. How profound are his thoughts! People without spiritual eyes cannot see what God is doing; they do not know that though the wicked flourish for a moment, they will be destroyed forever.
2. The righteous will flourish like a tree (9-15)
Those who have tasted God's grace and have a right relationship with God will be renewed continually. They will even bear fruit in old age. Let us, too, sing, 'The Lord is upright; he is my rock.' (15) Let us proclaim his love in the morning and his faithfulness in the night (2).
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see your work; open my eyes and ears to see and hear about the defeat of your enemies; open my lips to sing your praise.
One Word: Make music to the Lord
