JESUS HEALS A BLEEDING WOMAN
Passage: Luke 8:40~48
Key verse: 48
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(A)
40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader,(B) came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding(C) for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak,(D) and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master,(E) the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me;(F) I know that power has gone out from me.”(G)
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.(H) Go in peace.”(I)

1. A sick woman's desperate act (40-44)
Jesus and his disciples came back. A large crowd welcomed him. Among the crowd was a synagogue ruler, who asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter. On the way, Jesus encountered a woman who had a bleeding problem. No one had been able to heal her. But she believed that one touch of Jesus' cloak would do what no one else could do--give her healing. So she crept through the crowds crushing in on Jesus, went up to Jesus and touched his cloak and was healed.
2. Jesus gives the woman peace (45-48)
Jesus knew power had gone out from him when he was touched. He stopped and searched for the person who had done it. He searched insistently, wanting the person who touched him to come forward. Finally, the woman came forward and admitted it was her. The woman told her story to all around them. It must have been difficult. But she confessed her faith and her act. Jesus saw the great faith this woman had. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."
Prayer: Lord, thank you for Jesus' healing power. Thank you for giving us peace through him.
One Word: Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.
