A PEOPLE HOLY TO THE LORD

Passage: Deuteronomy 26:1~19

Key verse: 16

1. The offering of the first fruits (1-15)

When a family came into their inheritance in the promised land, they were to remember how they were humbled in the past and how far God had brought them by his grace. Then they were to make an offering of the first fruits of their land and give their testimony before God. The offering was to be dedicated to the poor and disadvantaged in the land. Then all of God's people, rich and poor, could rejoice together.

2. A people holy to the Lord your God (16-19)

For Israel to maintain God's blessing required them to pay careful attention to the commands they had received, observing them with all their heart and soul. Then they would know that they were a people holy to the Lord God. Similarly, our life can be blessed when we pay careful attention to the word of God that we have received.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remember your grace, be thankful, and bless others when I am blessed. I pray to be diligent in living by your word.

One Word: A people holy to the Lord
