MOSES BLESSES ISRAEL

Passage: Deuteronomy 33:1~29

Key verse: 29a

1. The blessed people with the law of God (1-5)

God's people are blessed because they bow down before God and receive instruction. When we listen to God and obey him, we walk with God and receive God's perfect protection (3,4). We are in God's hand.

2. Moses blesses each tribe of Israel (6-25)

Levi had no land allotment, because they had a priestly duty. When Israel worshipped a golden calf, they clearly stood on the Lord's side, ignoring their own family members (Matthew 19:29). Thus they were blessed by the Lord. The tribe Simeon was excluded, because they were merged into the tribe of Judah. Moses blessed each tribe from the bottom of his heart.

3. The God of Jeshurun (26-29)

To Moses, Israel were not 600,000 nameless, clumsy people. They were Jeshurun (a righteous one). When their enemies despised them, God himself fought for them with his everlasting arm. They would conquer the nations by faith. There are no happy people like Israel. There is no one loving like God who called sinners like us and who made us righteous through Jesus' blood!

Prayer: Lord, thank you so much for calling a wretched sinner like me and for making me as your Jeshurun!

One Word: Blessed are you!
