LOOK! THE BRIDEGROOM COMES

Passage: SongofSongs 3:6~5:1

Key verse: 7

1. The King comes (3:6-11)

When King Solomon came to his wedding, he came in great splendor and glory. This is the picture of the coming of our King. When Solomon was first married, his heart rejoiced. In the same way, the marriage of our King Jesus with his bridegroom, the church, will be the cause of great rejoicing.

2. How beautiful you are! (4:1-5:1)

The bridegroom describes the beauties of his bride in 4:1-7. When he sees her with the eyes of love, she is flawless. In verses 8-15, he looks forward to being alone with her. In 4:16-5:1, she invites him in and he comes. Their marriage is consummated. True beauty is gospel beauty. When we are cleansed by Jesus and united with him, how beautiful we are!

Prayer: Lord, thank you sending Jesus to be my King and bridegroom. Thank you for the gospel that restores us to true and heavenly beauty, without a flaw.

One Word: The gospel makes us beautiful
