ONLY THE REDEEMED WILL WALK THERE

Passage: Isaiah 35:1~10

Key verse: 9b-10a

1. Your God will come to save you (1-4)

The judgment of God on all nations (Isa 34) would not last forever. In contrast, glory will be restored, the glory of the LORD and splendor of God. Isaiah tells his people and us to be strong and have hope because "your God will come... he will come to save you." He delivered them from Assyria (Isa 37). He has come to us in Jesus Christ our Lord. Let's put our hope in him.

2. The everlasting joy of the redeemed (5-10)

Verses 5-7 describe the life-giving work the Lord does when he comes, healing body and soul. This prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus (Mt 11:5-6; Jn 7:38-39). God made a Way of Holiness for those he redeems. The cross of Jesus crushed Satan's power. This way is now open for all who return to God, repenting of idols and sin. Those who take that way experience everlasting joy, gladness, peace and deliverance on the way to Zion, the heavenly kingdom of God.

Prayer: Father, thank you for redeeming me in Jesus' blood. Help me return to you with joy.

One Word: Follow the Way of Holiness
