GOD'S ETERNAL COVENANT OF PEACE

Passage: Isaiah 54:1~17

Key verse: 10b

1. Your Maker is your husband (1-10)

In exile Israel became like a barren, abandoned woman, suffering God's wrath for the sin of idolatry. Now the Lord commands: "Sing! Shout for joy! Enlarge the place of your tent!" - expect many children. As a Husband, God loves his people. The brief moment of his wrath is eclipsed by his everlasting kindness and compassion. He is called Redeemer. Through Jesus' gospel God's unfailing love through the New Covenant, a covenant of peace, is revealed. Let us sing and rejoice, as we enlarge our tents in expectation of fruitful expansion of his church!

2. I will rebuild you (11-17)

God himself rebuilds Zion with gems and jewels: beauty and value that witness to righteousness. He will instruct and raise their children in peace. No weapon or destroyer will prevail, but his people are vindicated. This describes the glorious kingdom of Christ.

Prayer: Father my Redeemer, thank you for Jesus, our peace. Help me sing and rejoice in your plan, as I enlarge my tent by faith.

One Word: The Holy One is my Redeemer
