DAVID'S COURAGEOUS FAITH

Passage: 1Samuel 17:17~40

Key verse: 37

1. David's different way of thinking (17-31)

David was still just a boy and not yet a member of Saul's army. When David came out to the battlefield to check on his brothers, he heard Goliath's taunt. While the other Israelites were only thinking about how powerful Goliath looked, David only knew that he had defied the living God. He began to ask why no one had dared to face Goliath. David's brothers misunderstood him.

2. David volunteers (32-40)

David met King Saul and volunteered to go and fight Goliath. To human eyes, it seemed ridiculous. But David was confident, not based on himself but based on his previous experience in trusting the Lord for deliverance. He went out to meet the giant, using the tools and skills that he already had.

Prayer: Lord, help me be one who has faith even when others don't, and have a challenging spirit to face problems.

One Word: One person with faith
