THE POWER OF LIVING IN GOD'S PROMISES

Passage: Jeremiah 30:1~24

Key verse: 8

1. The Hope of God will never disappoint us (1-11)

This was the height of the siege. People were starving. Yet, God's word was full of hope with promises of healing and redemption. Jeremiah's prophetic words told of many wonderful things, some of which would occur in seventy years and others more than six centuries later, when "David their King" (Jesus) would be raised up. Some people are not satisfied with future promises. They want immediate redemption. But God's hopes are living hopes. They bring joy, strength and healing.

2. God's complete healing (12-24)

The people were beyond healing. They had no advocate; no allies. They were experiencing cruelty. They stood guilty before God. But God would surely intervene and come to their aid. God was going to bring restoration to them. As we patiently wait for God's promises to be fulfilled, God begins his healing within us.

Prayer: Lord, I am so impatient. Help me to hold onto your promises and experience your restoration.

One Word: Holding onto God's hope
