1. We have what we prayed! (13-17)
Now we know that we have eternal life by believing in Jesus. We have confidence that if we ask anything according to God's will, he hears us. We should also pray for others who commit sins that do not lead to death, so that God may forgive them. But we should know that some sins lead to death such as the sin of Judas Iscariot who committed suicide instead of repenting.
2. Jesus keeps us safe from the evil one (18-21)
Anyone born of God does not continue to sin because Jesus, the One born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and the whole world is under the control of the evil one. Jesus gives us understanding to know him as the true God and eternal life. As the children of God we should keep ourselves from all idols.
Prayer: Lord, you are the true God and eternal life. You hear our prayer when we ask according to your will. Thank you for protecting us from all harm from the evil one.
One Word: We know we have eternal life in Jesus
