ACCEPT THE WORD OF GOD HUMBLY

Passage: Jeremiah 36:1~32

Key verse: 3

1. God's infinite patience and kindness (1-26)

God never gives up on his people. Baruch copied the word of God spoken though Jeremiah on a scroll and was sent to read the words aloud at the temple. Some officials heard the words and knew that Jeremiah and Baruch would be in trouble and they told them to hide. They brought the scroll to the king. The king had such disregard for the word of God that he burnt the scroll and wanted God's servants arrested. God was so patient.

2. God's word cannot be ignored (27-32)

God could not ignore the king's insolence. Baruch wrote another scroll with the former words as well as some new ones. The king would surely face judgement for scorning God's kindness and his word. He and his family would suffer. His lineage would be cut off from David's line.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you always reach out to us by your word. Help me to accept your word humbly.

One Word: Repent before God's word
