I AM AGAINST YOU, JERUSALEM

Passage: Ezekiel 5:1~17

Key verse: 8

1. A barber's razor (1-6)

The Lord commanded Ezekiel to shave his head and beard, to measure it into thirds, then burn, strike and scatter them. He was to reserve a few hairs, only to set them on fire. God had intended Jerusalem to be his shining example, in the center of the nations, to reveal the majesty of the Lord. Instead she became rebellious and disobedient to the Lord's laws and decrees.

2. They will know that I have spoken (7-17)

Jerusalem was worse than the surrounding nations, in spite of having the law. Therefore, the Lord would avenge himself in the eyes of the nations. The Lord revealed himself and accomplished his purpose in the horrific judgment of his own people. In his wrath he made himself known. He is the Judge and Sovereign of the nations.

Prayer: Lord, you are the judge of all nations. Use me as an instrument of your word.

One Word: The Lord is judge of all nations
