A SWORD AGAINST IDOLATRY

Passage: Ezekiel 6:1~14

Key verse: 10

1. I will destroy your high places (1-7)

The Lord commanded Ezekiel to prophesy against the land of Israel, where they had practiced the worship of other gods. The Lord loved his people, and called them to be his own, his bride. Instead they exchanged his high calling in order to chase after the idols of the surrounding nations. As a result, they would suffer the wrath of God. Their idols would be demolished, and they would lie slain in front of them.

2. They will know that I am the Lord (8-14)

The Lord wanted people to repent and return to him. Though they had adulterous hearts, the Lord longed to reveal himself. He desired that they would know that he is the Lord. The Lord does not judge in vain. In his judgment he accomplishes his will, that his people and the whole world may know the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, heal my adultery and blindness. Help me be your instrument, to reveal your glory to all nations.

One Word: God does not judge in vain
