PROPHECIES AGAINST FOUR NATIONS

Passage: Ezekiel 25:1~17

Key verse: 17b

1. Ammon and Moab (1-11)

The Ammonites gloated with malicious hearts over Judah's exile saying, "Aha!" So God would give them over as plunder and exterminate them. The Moabites also scoffed at Judah's misfortune. They too would be punished and in this way they would know the LORD. We learn here not to mock or gloat or think we are better, personally or nationally, for this greatly displeases God.

2. Edom and Philistia (12-17)

Edom's and Philistia's sin was vengeance against Judah. They would know the LORD when he took vengeance on them. God's people are not to take vengeance, personally or nationally. It is the LORD's to avenge and repay (Ro 12:19).

Prayer: Lord, help me and my nation not to gloat over other's misfortunes nor take revenge on wrongdoers, but leave all judgment to you. Help me rather to bless and pray for others in Jesus' name.

One Word: Do not gloat or take revenge; bless and pray for others
