A LAMENT FOR TYRE

Passage: Ezekiel 27:1~36

Key verse: 3

1. A ship, perfect in beauty (1-25)

God composed a lament for Tyre. They thought they were perfect in beauty. They are described as a beautiful ship, made of the finest imported materials and well-manned internationally. So many nations did business with Tyre to exchange fine goods and merchandise. Their economy was so impressive.

2. The day of your shipwreck (26-36)

The east wind (Babylon) would wreck this ship. They would sink in the heart of the sea on the day of their shipwreck. Even kings would shudder with horror at Tyre's sinking.

Prayer: Lord, the world seeks beauty and wealth. May I not be deceived. Forgive my lust, vanity and arrogance. Help me to pursue humility and simplicity. In Jesus' name.

One Word: Seek the LORD, not beauty or wealth
