GOD'S GLORY FILLS THE TEMPLE

Passage: Ezekiel 43:1~27

Key verse: 5

1. "I will live among them forever" (1-12)

Returning to the east (main) entrance to the temple, Ezekiel saw the glory of God coming. This Glorious One filled the visionary temple. God explained it was the place of his throne, in the midst of his people. The Holy God lived next door, but the people had defiled his holy name by their idolatry. God revealed this visionary temple so they may be filled with shame and repent for their idolatry. In this way they may have hope for their future, as God plans to live with them forever.

2. Restoration of the altar (13-27)

How is the Glorious and Holy God to live among sinners? Through the sacrifices on the altar. They were to rebuild it and purify it according to God's prescribed ways. Only then would God accept them. We too are made acceptable to God only though the one way, Jesus Christ, whose shed blood is the perfect sacrifice for sins and reconciliation with God.

Prayer: Father, thank you for making a way to live with us forever in Jesus. Help me worship you.

One Word: See God's Glory in the face of Christ
