DANIEL, BE STRONG!

Passage: Daniel 10:1~11:1

Key verse: 19

1. A son of man (10:1-9)

In Cyrus' third year the Israelites already returned to Jerusalem. But Daniel saw the ongoing War. The restoration of the temple and the fallen walls were another challenge. Daniel prayed fasting for three weeks to know what to do. He then saw a son of man; his body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude. It was the image of the risen Christ (Rev 1:13-16). When we are helpless before overwhelming situations, Jesus, the son of man is still there.

2. Be strong, be strong! (10:10-11:1)

The son of man touched Daniel saying, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed!" He said that Daniel's prayer was heard already since the first day he prayed. He explained the ongoing spiritual wars behind the scenes. But Daniel had no strength even to breathe. The Lord strengthened Daniel with his word, "Don't be afraid! Peace! Be strong, be strong!" Then Daniel gained strength. The Lord works with his word through the prayer servants.

Prayer: Lord, with our own strengths our ongoing spiritual wars are too much. Praise Jesus who strengthens us to keep fighting in prayers.

One Word: Be strong!
