HEZEKIAH PRAYS TO THE LORD

Passage: 2Kings 19:1~19

Key verse: 19

1. This is what the Lord says (1-13)

When Hezekiah heard the words of Sennacherib he went to the temple. He sent for Isaiah the prophet. In his day of distress Hezekiah sought the word of the Lord. When all he could hear were the threats of his enemies, he sought the word of the Lord. The king of Assyria continued to remind him of how strong his armies were. But the Lord said, "Do not be afraid." He promised to save.

2. Hezekiah's prayer (14-19)

With nothing but the word of the Lord, Hezekiah went to the temple and prayed. He prayed to God the Creator, the God of Israel-who rules over all the kings of the earth. He acknowledged Assyria's strength. He prayed that God would deliver them and reveal his glory to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Prayer: Lord, you give your word and hear when we pray, even when it seems hopeless. Help me to listen to your word and pray for your revelation to all people.

One Word: Listen and pray
