IN HIS LOVE HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU

Passage: Zephaniah 3:1~20

Key verse: 17

1. I will leave the meek and humble in you (1-13)

Jerusalem was privileged to have the righteous LORD within her: He who does no wrong and dispenses justice! Surely they would fear Him and accept correction. Instead, they were rebellious and defiled, eager to act corruptly in all they did. So he would bring his wrath; the whole world would be consumed by his jealous anger. But he would leave his remnant in Jerusalem, hidden and protected: the meek and the humble, who trust in his name.

2. The LORD, the King of Israel, is with you (14-20)

The prophecy transitions to post-exile Jerusalem. The LORD has taken away their punishment and now dwells among them as King. He is the Mighty Warrior who saves! He takes great delight in His people, no longer rebuking but rejoicing over them with singing. He himself will remove burdens, deal with oppressors, rescue the lame and gather the exiles home. All this and more he has done in sending us Jesus, our Savior and King.

Prayer: Father, thank you for keeping your promise and sending our Mighty Savior and King Jesus.

One Word: God is with you
