HOW WILL YOU BE REMEMBERED BY FUTURE GENERATIONS?

Passage: 1_Chronicles 1:1~2:55

Key verse: 1:28

1. Adam to Abraham (1:1-54)

The 8 chapters of genealogy focus on David (the kingship) and Levi (the priesthood). Adam was the first man, created by God. God elected blameless, righteous Noah and his 3 sons to save them through the ark and to repopulate the earth. Japheth’s descendants moved north, Ham’s moved south, and Shem’s moved east. Through Shem came Abraham, the father of the Israelites, and our father in the faith (Ro 4:16).

2. Israel to David (2:1-55)

Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons, who formed the 12 tribes of Israel. Judah is highlighted, since this is King David’s line (15). Note 3 people: Er (3), Achar (7) and Bezalel (20). Er was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death. Achar (a.k.a. Achan) brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on devoted things (Jos 7:1,25); he was stoned to death. Bezalel was a skilled craftsman during the time of the tabernacle construction. He used his skill, talent and time to serve the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, I won’t live forever here. May my life bring you praise, honor and glory. In Jesus’ name.

One Word: Leave a legacy of faith and love for God
