GOING BACK TO THE BIBLE

Passage: 2_Chronicles 34:1~33

Key verse: 14

1. Josiah's reforms (1-13)

In contrast to his predecessors, the boy King Josiah does what is right in the eyes of the Lord. As a teenager, he seeks to know God, and later, in his twenties, he zealously purges the land of idol worship. Then, he enlists the rulers and priests to repair the temple and restore it. May God raise up young spiritual leaders like Josiah.

2. The Book of the Law is found (14-33)

As they are bringing out the money taken into the temple, they find the long lost word of God. Hilkiah the priest brings the Book of the Law to King Josiah. In turn, he seeks out Huldah, a housewife who loves God and is a prophetess. She warns them of God's judgment due to their idol worship -- and God's mercy due to Josiah's repentance. The king responds by reading the Bible to the people and renewing their covenant with the Lord as a nation.

Prayer: Lord, raise up the next generation as spiritual leaders who can take our nation back to the Bible and you.

One Word: Go back to the Bible and commit to the Lord.
