LET THE REDEEMED TELL THEIR STORY

Passage: Psalm 107:1~16

Key verse: 2

This psalm praises the good LORD for the accounts of redemption and deliverance of four groups of people in very difficult situations (4,10,17, 23). Today’s verses cover two of these stories.

First, the hungry, thirsty wanderers. These people wandered in the desert. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. God led them to a place to settle and satisfied their thirst and hunger with good things.

Second, those in dark prisons. These people were in dark prisons due to their rebellion against God. They had bitter labor and stumbled with no one to help. But they also cried out to the LORD, and he saved them also. He brought them out of darkness and broke their chains.

The psalmist repeats: “Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind” (8,15,21,31). Indeed, we should thank the LORD for his unfailing love and wonderful deeds.

Prayer: LORD God, great is your unfailing love and wonderful are your deeds of deliverance and salvation for all who cry out to you. May we each tell of your love and deliverance in our own lives and in the family of faith. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

One Word: Tell of his unfailing love and deliverance
