REBELLION AGAINST GOD

Passage: Deuteronomy 1:19~46

Key verse: 21

When the Israelites arrived at Kadesh Barnea, Moses said to them, “See, the LORD your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, told you.”

There was a sure promise from God that the land was already given to them. All they had to do was go up and take possession of the land, trusting God’s promise. They had sent the spies into the land and found that the land was indeed good.

But they rebelled against God. They did not trust in God’s word. Rather, they saw people stronger and taller than them. Many fears entered their hearts. They did not remember God who led them thus far with pillars of fire, and pillars of cloud.

It is important to remember what God has done in our lives. When we forget God’s grace, we lose faith.

Lord, thank you for your amazing grace for us. Most of all, thank you for your grace, giving us eternal life through your son Jesus.

Prayer: Help us to remember your grace and continue to fight a good fight daily, trusting in your guidance and power fully.

One Word: Remember God’s grace
