WISDOM’S CALL

Passage: Proverbs 8:1~21

Key verse: 11

At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, wisdom takes her stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud: “To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.” (4,5) Wisdom is calling out to us. Are we listening?

Rubies are rarer and more valuable than diamonds. Wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing we desire can compare with her (11). Whoever seeks wisdom even though he is simple and foolish, finds her (17). By wisdom, kings reign. By wisdom, princes govern.

Wisdom will give us prudence which means the way (5). Wisdom will speak what is true and what is just (7, 8). Finally, wisdom gives us better than fine gold (19) - life. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for wisdom. Please open my eyes and heart to seek wisdom.

One Word: Listen to and seek for wisdom
