PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD

Passage: Psalm 113:1~9

Key verse: 113:3

First, the Lord is exalted over all the nations (1-4). The psalmist urges all of God's servants to praise the Lord both now and forevermore from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. His name should be exalted over all the nations and his glory above the heavens. Why? Second, he stooped down (5-9). Why should we exalt him forever? It is because there is no one like the Lord our God. He sits enthroned on high above. Yet he stooped down to look and even came in a manger. He used his mighty power not to destroy but to save the poor in spirit. He lifted the needy from sin, death and Satan. Now whoever believes in this incarnated God, Jesus, shall not perish but have eternal life. They will sit as princes and princesses in his Kingdom. Their marriage and family problems are solved. The barren woman will settle down as a happy mother with many children. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Lord, we praise your name to be exalted over all the nations and above the heavens both now and forever.

One Word: He stooped down
