BY HIS WOUNDS YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED

Passage: 1Peter 2:11~25

Key verse: 24

1. Live such good lives (11-12)

We are but pilgrims during the time we have on this earth. As such, we should not conform to the practices of this world. Rather, we should abstain from all kinds of sinful desires. Doing so isn't easy. It is like a war raging inside us. But if we can live such good lives, unbelievers will see the lives we live and it will lead them to glorify God.

2. Submit yourselves to the Lord (13-25)

Here are two examples of how to live such good lives. First, we can submit to the authorities that God puts over us. It is God's will that we should do so, in order to silence ignorant people. How can we submit ourselves? "Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor." Second, slaves should submit themselves to their masters. It is commendable to suffer for doing good. This is what Christ did. He suffered and died so that we could be healed.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live my life so that unbelievers may see me and come to the praises of God through me.

One Word: Jesus bore our sins so we can be healed
