REACHING INTO OUR DARKENESS

Passage: Jeremiah 19:1~15

Key verse: 1-2

1. Creative ways to communicate God's truth (1-13)

Jeremiah was to deliver God's message in a vivid manner to the elders. He was to buy a pot and smash it in the valley of Ben Hinnom, a garbage dump where babies were sacrificed to an idol in fire. For allowing these terrible practices, judgment was coming. God tried his best to make his message as clear as possible to the people.

2. God's servant continues to speak (14-15)

Jeremiah's ministry continued to move forward. After the vivid display, he went to the temple courts. With boldness, he stood in full view and spoke to the people of their sin and warned them of the coming judgement. Jeremiah's ministry reflected the very heart of God. God loved them and really wanted them to humble themselves and repent.

Prayer: Lord, I was lost in the darkness of my own sin, but you tried your best to speak to my heart. Thank you for not giving up and speaking in my darkness.

One Word: God never stops trying to speak
