THE LORD APPEARS TO EZEKIEL

Passage: Ezekiel 1:1~28

Key verse: 28

1. Ezekiel's first vision (1-21)

Ezekiel first saw visions of God while he was living as one of the exiles in Babylon. He was a priest, and the vision meant that the word of the Lord had come to his people, and the hand of the Lord was on Ezekiel for his purpose. His vision was of an unearthly appearance, of fascinating beings with uncommon abilities, a representation of power and wisdom.

2. Like the voice of the Almighty (22-28)

The vision was spectacular. But what was most spectacular about the appearance was the revelation of the Lord himself. It was the voice of the Almighty, the appearance of the glory of the Lord to his people in exile, like a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day. This was the time of the Lord's judgment, but he was appearing to the ones he judged. Ezekiel was called to prophesy the glory of the Lord to the exiled people.

Prayer: Almighty Lord, help us to know your glory and hear your voice in our times.

One Word: Like the voice of the Almighty
