DAVID'S MIGHTY WARRIORS

Passage: 1Chronicles 11:10~47

Key verse: 10

1. The loyalty of the Three and Abishai (10-21)

David didn't conscript top men as other kings did; his top warriors were men whom David befriended and shepherded while he was hiding in the cave of Adullam. These disgruntled men became able leaders. They were loyal to him even to the point of death. David respected each of them as God's warriors. Their exploits were great. By working together David was able to defeat Israel's enemies.

2. Benaiah and the list of the mighty (22-47)

No kingdom is a one-man show; David's bodyguard, under the care of the mighty Benaiah, were all great and loyal men. Uriah the Hittite (41), whose loyalty to David and the kingdom, even though he was not an Israelite, is legendary. All of the men were likely the same, whose support was crucial to the integrity and growth of the kingdom.

Prayer: Father, you raise leaders who serve and respect others. Help me to work together with them for your kingdom's purpose in love and respect.

One Word: Love and respect produce loyalty
