DANIEL INTERPRETS THE KING'S DREAM

Passage: Daniel 2:31~49

Key verse: 44

1. A kingdom that will never be destroyed (31-45)

The king's dream was a statue with a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, and feet of iron and clay. A rock struck the statue and then became a mountain that filled the earth. The king of Babylon was the head of gold. Other kingdoms would follow. But the rock is God's kingdom which will crush all other kingdoms and will itself endure forever (44). This kingdom was set up by Jesus Christ.

2. "Your God is Lord of kings" (46-49)

King Nebuchadnezzar confessed, "Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries..." (47) He promoted Daniel to top adviser and his three friends as administrators over Babylon.

Prayer: Lord, you are the God of gods and the Lord of kings. Your kingdom alone is forever. May I live for your kingdom and glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

One Word: Only God's kingdom in Christ will endure forever
