DWELL IN THE SHELTER OF THE MOST HIGH

Passage: Psalm 91:1~16

Key verse: 91:1

First, 'He is my God, in whom I trust' (1-8). Dwelling and abiding in the shelter or home of God brings rest in his shadow. When we trust in the Lord, he never fails to save us. His protection is like a mother bird. He protects from nightmares, disease, and disaster. The Lord Almighty is able to bring about such deliverance. Second, 'I will show him my salvation' (9-16). This is a promise for anyone who trusts in God, as a refuge. God protects the one who dwells with him from all harm. Satan tempted Jesus to abuse this promise by jumping off the temple (Mt 4:6). But Jesus knew faith means trust, and did not test God. A relationship with God is by faith alone, and is rooted in love for God. To the one who loves God, God reveals his salvation. To all those who believe in Jesus Christ and have run to him for refuge from the power of sin, God has delivered them, honored them, and satisfied them with good things.

Prayer: Father, you are my refuge, in whom I trust. Please satisfy and show me your salvation today.

One Word: The Lord is my refuge
