BLESSINGS FOR OBEDIENCE

Passage: Leviticus 26:1~13

Key verse: 26:12

First, 'I am the Lord' (1-2,13). Who is the Lord? He is the one true Creator God, who alone is to be worshiped (1). He is the Holy One who makes the laws and proper worship that enables sinners to come to Him (2). He is our mighty Redeemer, who broke the bars of our yoke, and enabled us to walk with heads held high (13). Second, 'If you...I will...' (3-12). God promises many blessings only if his people are careful to follow and obey him (3): abundant food, safety, peace and not fear, no harmful beast or enemy, and victory over enemies who are much greater in number (4-8). God will look on them with favor, make them fruitful, and keep his covenant with them. Most of all, he will put his dwelling place among them, walk among them and be their God, and they his people. The presence of God is the greatest blessing of all.

Prayer: Lord God, your presence is the greatest blessing of all. You alone are holy, our Creator and Redeemer. Thank you for dwelling with us sinners in the person of Jesus Christ, so that we might dwell eternally with you. Give us a heart that loves, fears and earnestly seeks you.

One Word: The greatest blessing is God with us
