CELEBRATE THE PASSOVER

Passage: Deuteronomy 16:1~17

Key verse: 1

1. Remembering God's deliverance (1-8)

The Lord commanded his people as of first importance to celebrate the Passover. It was the remembrance of their deliverance out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. They were to celebrate the Passover in the place and the way that the Lord prescribed. It was a celebration of the unique grace they had received out of all nations in earth. It was a celebration of the Lord who called them by his Name. Remembering God's grace of deliverance is the foundation of the life of God's people and the true cause for celebration.

2. You must appear before the Lord (9-17)

The Lord called his people to appear before him with rejoicing, to remember the Lord who blesses them and the work of their hands. It was the time to offer themselves to the Lord again and again as his people. They were delivered by God by his grace and compassion-the one who dwelled among them, providing atonement for sin and maintaining his blessing to them.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remember your grace and celebrate it with my life.

One Word: Remember God's deliverance
