I WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE

Passage: John 9:8~41

Key verse: 25

1. The former blind man's conviction (8-34)

People initially doubted if he was the same man who used to sit and beg. They also demanded who had healed him and how. The Pharisees were dubious about the whole matter coming from God because the miracle happened on a Sabbath. The man's parents confirmed his identity but refused to comment about his healing because they were afraid. The man faced enormous pressure to recant or to be silent. Instead, he repeatedly stated that he had been blind but could now see and that Jesus had healed him. The Pharisees felt threatened and insulted by a former beggar who would not back down. They threw him out into the street.

2. Jesus meets with the man (35-41)

Jesus went to personally meet with this man again. He revealed himself as the Son of Man. The former blind man worshiped him. He had been blind but could now see the Son of Man. Ironically the Pharisees never had a problem with their physical eyesight but they were spiritually blind.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your saving grace. Let me worship you and declare what you have done for me.

One Word: What has Jesus done for you?
