THE LIFE-GIVING GOSPEL

Passage: 1_Corinthians 15:1~11

Key verse: 3-4

1. The gospel (1-4)

Gospel means good news. Jesus Christ is the gospel. As Adam’s descendants, we must die because of our sins. Then we have a second death in hell. But Jesus died on the cross to forgive all our sins. His resurrection means that we will also be raised from the dead. Whoever believes in Jesus is saved and will be raised from the dead into the Kingdom of God. This is truly good news that we must believe and preach as of first importance.

2. Witnesses of the resurrection (5-11)

This gospel is not a man-made story. The suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus are predicted by the Scriptures. These events are historical facts. There are many eyewitnesses to this event: Peter, 12 disciples, 500 of brothers and Paul himself. Furthermore, their changed lives, from coward to courageous martyrs, from selfish to sacrificial and God-centered men testify to Jesus’ resurrection.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for changing me when I received and took my stand on Jesus’ death and resurrection. Help me pass this gospel on to others.

One Word: Pass on Jesus' gospel as of first importance!
