CONSIDER THE GREAT LOVE OF THE LORD

Passage: Psalm 107:23~43

Key verse: 107:43

First, he stills the storm to a whisper (23-32). This reminds us of Jesus who rebuked the winds and saved his disciples saying, 'Quiet! Be still!' (Mk 4:39). We were like some who went out on the sea in ships and met the sudden storms. We found no hope in us overwhelmed by the power of sin, Satan and death. But when we cried out to God, the Sovereign Lord calmed down the storms and saved us. Now we exalt him for his stilling storms and guiding us to the heavenly kingdom. Second, God blesses the upright but the wicked are cursed (33-43). Because of the wicked people the Lord turns their rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground and fruitful land into a salt waste. However, the Lord can reverse all the curses into blessings because of the righteous who live there too. He pours contempt on the proud, but he lifts the needy out of affliction. God has authority to build up as well as to destroy. Praise the Lord who can change our cursed life into the blessed ones in Jesus.

Prayer: Sovereign Lord, help me to be wise to heed and ponder your loving deeds to send the Savior Jesus to change my cursed life into a blessed one.

One Word: Exalt the Lord
