NO ONE CAN SNATCH US OUT OF JESUS' HAND

Passage: John 10:22~42

Key verse: 28

1. Secure in Jesus' hand (22-30)

Some Jews accused Jesus of being vague about his claims to be the Messiah. Jesus was not vague at all. The real problem was that people did not want to believe. They were unwilling to listen to Jesus and unwilling to repent and believe. They were not Jesus' sheep. On the other hand, Jesus gives eternal life to all who repent and believe in him. Our life is secure in Jesus' hand. No one, not even the devil, can snatch us out of Jesus' hand nor God the Father's hand. Jesus and the Father are one.

2. Jesus is God's Son (31-42)

Next the Jews accused Jesus of blasphemy for claiming to be God. But if the Scriptures called the prophets "gods", then it was even more appropriate to use this term for the Messiah who is greater than any prophet. If Jesus was set apart as God's very own, then his claim, "I am God's Son," is not blasphemy but truth. Jesus also pointed to his miracles as evidence that he and the Father are one. The Jews in Jerusalem would not believe but many across the Jordan believed.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for eternal life in Jesus and that you hold us secure in your hand.

One Word: Jesus gives eternal life
